WhatWeDo.jpgWhat We Do

To date SOS Bus volunteers have interacted with over 126,000 people on the street of Belfast and provided in-depth medical and caring support to more than 2300 individuals on the SOS Bus itself.

Helping those most vulnerable and in need we’ve;

  • saved 7 lives
  • reunited hundreds of young people with their grateful parents
  • taken people to hospital
  • Helped people get home safely in our own SOS minibus or by using our partner taxi services, Value Cabs and FonaCab
  • Signposted (directed) vulnerable people to relevant service providers

SOS bus volunteers and the services we provide helps to reduce pressure at peak times on our (over) burdened Ambulance Service and our Hospital Emergency Departments, possibly saving even more lives as we free up these essential resources for us all.

We can be found at Shaftesbury Square every Friday and Saturday night (10.00pm – 3.30am) and at the Odyssey every Saturday night (10.00pm – 3.30am).

SOS Bus is also involved in local community building, bringing people together and making a difference in their lives. We are currently present at the Hillhall estate, Lisburn, every Tuesday, where we are working in partnership with the Hillhall Regeneration Group and other stakeholders.
